Attorney Frederick P. Davies
Frederick P. Davies is the founder and senior attorney of the Davies Law Firm. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Vermont in 1982 and a law degree (Juris Doctorate) from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1985. Following graduation, Mr. Davies was admitted to practice law in all the state courts of New York and Connecticut. He is also admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court and the Federal District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of New York.
In October 1985, Mr. Davies joined the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate (Military Lawyer) and was stationed at Naval Base San Francisco, California, where he began his estate planning practice and gained extensive trial experience. In 1989, he left active duty, returned home to Central New York, and joined the Naval Reserve, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In 1992, Mr. Davies accepted a commission in the New York Air National Guard and served as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 174th Fighter Wing at Hancock Field (Syracuse Airport). In 1995, he accepted the position of Air Staff Judge Advocate for Headquarters, Connecticut Air National Guard. In 2002, Mr. Davies assumed the position of Staff Judge Advocate for the Eastern Air Defense Sector located in Rome, New York. Throughout his military and civilian career, Mr. Davies has focused his law practice on helping people and their families with estate and tax planning and other civil matters.
Mr. Davies is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association (Wills and Estates Section), and the New York State Bar Association (Trusts & Estates and Elder Law Sections). At the local level, Mr. Davies is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Central New York and the Syracuse Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Mr. Davies is also a Registered Financial Consultant.
